Ultrasound

An ultrasound scan is a painless, rapid, non-invasive test that uses sound waves to create images of organs and structures inside your body.It is used in many situations, the way the ultrasound bounces back from different tissues can help to determine the size, shape, consistency of organs, structures and abnormalities.Ultrasound can be made only by appointment

It can:

  • Help monitor the growth of an unborn baby, and check for abnormalities. An ultrasound is routine for pregnant women. Detect abnormalities in the heart valve and that is done by the radiographer.
  • Help diagnose problems in the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, thyroid gland, lymph nodes, ovaries, testes, kidneys, bladder and breasts. For example, it can help to determine if an abnormal lump in one of these organs is a solid tumor or a fluid-filled cyst.

Ultrasound Examinations (3D/4D):

  • Upper Abdominal (Liver, Gallbladder, Pancreas, Spleen)
  • KUB (Kidney, Ureters, Bladder, Prostate)
  • Pelvis (TA/TV)
  • Small Parts (Thyroid, Breasts, Testicles)
  • Vascular (Aorta, Carotids, Renal Doppler)
  • Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
  • Obstetrics (1st, 2nd, 3rd Trimester Scanning)
*Some of the above scans will be done by a radiographer.

Cancer Marker

A Cancer Marker is a substance found in the blood, urine, or body tissues that can be elevated in cancer, among other tissue types. There are many different cancer markers, each indicative of a particular disease process. Cancer markers are used in oncology to screen for specific cancer types

  • CEA: Colorectal Cancer
  • CA 19.9: Pancreatic and Biliary Tract Cancers
  • CA 15.3: Breast Cancer
  • CA 125: Ovarian Cancer
  • PSA: Prostate Cancer
  • NPC / EBV: Nasopharyngeal
  • AFP: Liver
  • ß-HCG: Nonseminomatous Germ Cells Cancers, gestational Trophoblastic Disease

Digital X-Ray

A type of radiation that uses energy beams of very short wavelengths (0.1 to 1000 angstroms). It serves the purpose to detect any pathology problem of the skeletal system & some disease processes in soft tissue. If you are pregnant or suspect that you may be pregnant, you should notify your physician due to risk of injury to the fetus.

Stress Test

A stress test, sometimes called exercise test, helps a doctor find out how well your heart handles work. An ECG will be attached to determine if the heart is able to function well under stress. As your body works harder during test, it requires more oxygen, so the heart must pump more blood. The test can show if the blood supply is reduced in the arteries that supply the heart. It also helps doctors know the kind and level of exercise appropriate for a patient.

Echocardiogram

Echocardiogram provides pictures of your heart’s arteries and the heart condition. Mostly doctor use heart scan to look for any blockage in the arteries. An ultrasound machine is being use in assisting doctor in heart scan.

Carotid Doppler

Carotid Doppler is a non-invasive test that uses sound waves to measure the flow of blood through the large carotid arteries that supply blood to the brain. This test can help doctors to determine stroke risk and help determine preventive measures.

Foreign Worker Screening

A complete medical examinations for foreign workers that consists of blood and urine tests, chest x-ray and physical examination.

Electrocardiogram (ECG)

An Electrocardiogram or "ECG" records the electrical activity of the heart over time. Small metal electrodes are stuck onto your arms, legs and chest. Wires from the electrodes are connected to the ECG machine. The machine detects and amplifies the electrical impulses that occur each heartbeat and records them. A few heartbeats are recorded from different sets of electrodes.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy used to re-mediate impairments and promotes mobility, function, and quality of life through examination, diagnosis, prognosis, and by using physical agents, mechanical force, adaptive devices, and movements). It is carried out by physiotherapists. In our establishment, physiotherapy services may be provided alongside, or in conjunction with other medical services.

Enhanced external counterpulsation (EECP)

Enhanced external counterpulsation (EECP) is a non-invasive procedure in which a set of inflatable cuffs (much like blood pressure cuffs) mechanically compress the blood vessels in the patient's lower limbs to increase blood flow in the coronary arteries of the heart. The basic principle of EECP treatment involves increasing the amount of blood returning to the heart, which helps supply more oxygen to its starved areas and therefore reduce chest pain.

Benefit of EECP:

  • Decreases the amount of work needed by the heart to pump blood cardiac workload.
  • Improving vascular health (Endothelial Function).
  • Increase coronary blood flow of the heart muscle.
  • Increase volume of blood pumped by the heart (cardiac output).
  • Increase anti-inflammatory effects.
  • Increases the flow of oxygen and nutrients and improving organ function.
  • Promotes blood vessel formation (Angiogenesis).
